Police Commissioner Kevin Davis Talks Police Reform

A lot of focus right now on police reforms: body cameras, a new leadership team for Baltimore police, more of a chance for the public to see the evidence against officers accused of misconduct. Are these reforms enough to build public trust in the police in the wake of Freddie Gray’s death? Baltimore Police Commissioner Kevin Davis spoke with us about the “tangible, real progress” he says he’s bringing to the department.

Maryland State Senator Catherine Pugh also briefly joins us to discuss a Maryland state legislative panel that is proposing major changes in police policies. Pugh co-chaired the Public Safety and Policing Workgroup and walks us through some of its recommendations.
