Baltimore Dirt Bike Debate

In this hour of the show, we tackle the ongoing debate over dirt bikes in Baltimore. Are they a public menace and, if so, what should be done about them? Riding dirt bikes on Baltimore’s streets is illegal, but their appearance has been a Sunday ritual for years. For the past two Sundays, police have been able to shut down Reisterstown Road to block the dirt-bikers from their weekly show of wheelies and weaving that attracts large crowds. Among our guests: a City Councilman Pete Welch, who thinks the dirt-bikers should have their own track, and Lotfy Nathan, director of “Twelve O’Clock Boys.” an acclaimed documentary about the dirt-bikers. We’ll also get an update on Maryland’s heroin crisis and the closing of the old and decrepit Baltimore City Jail.
