People have been drinking wine nearly as long as we’ve had civilization. That's 8,000 years!  Over time, wine has been through a lot of changes. Not just in how it’s made, but in its role in society. Author Paul Lukacs examines the multi-millennial history of wine in his book Inventing Wine: A New History of One of the World's Most Ancient Pleasures.

Lukacs is also the director of the Center for the Humanities at Loyola University, where he teaches English.  He'll be at The Ivy Bookshop on Tuesday, February 12 at 6:30 PM to disuss his book. You can RSVP on their website.
