By day, Manil Suri is a mathematics professor at University of Maryland, Baltimore County. But the rest of the time, he’s a best-selling author. His new novel combines war, eroticism, and Hindu mythology into one story. It’s called The City of Devi, and is a companion to the two earlier books The Death of Vishnu and The Age of Shiva. He’ll be reading from the book on Wednesday, February 6 at UMBC, at 7 pm, and at the Ivy Bookshop on Thursday, February 7 at 7 pm. You can RSVP on their website. And if you're interested in seeing Manil Suri's Bollywood dance from the Brooklyn Book Festival, you can check that out here.
We want to thank Lee Utterbach for all the production help he provided with this segment.
In this web extra, Manil Suri reads an excerpt from The City of Devi. A heads' up--it's sexually explicit.
