"The Tropic of X" is no fairy tale and whether love triumphs in the end...is open to interpretation" -J. Wynn Rousuck

Maryland Morning theater critic J. Wynn Rousuck brings us her review of Single Carrot Theatre's production of "The Tropic of X," which is the play's American and English-language premiere.
The setting is a futuristic Polyglot island nation where war and poverty plague the young inhabitants, who are trying to find a connection amid the nation's gunfire, drugs and sex trafficking. But, Rousuck says "the bond between the play's protagonists is a bond of love-love driven more by desperate need than gentle affection."
"The Tropic of X" is the inaugural production at Single Carrot's temporary space on Charles Street-the former home of Everyman Theatre.
"The Tropic of X" continues at Single Carrot Theatre through March 3.
