***THE SIGNAL AIRS FRIDAYS AT 7 PM AND SATURDAYS AT 1 PM***
This week (June 3 & 4, 2011) on The Signal, a special road-trip rebroadcast…
Four years ago, Aaron Henkin teamed up with musician Caleb Stine, and they headed west on Maryland’s blue highways for an exploration of modern Americana... Along the way, they met people from all walks of life and talked with them about the country’s past and its future. Aaron and Caleb visited a roadside produce stand, a snowball shop, a toy train store, and a carpentry business. They hung out at a roadside diner, a custom airbrush clothing boutique, and a little league baseball game. They kicked back for some music and conversation at a KOA campsite. They survived a rainy morning and made it out to Cumberland, Maryland. There, they met an inspired guy named ‘Rich,’ and he helped them wind their way to an impromptu bluegrass music hoe-down in a local basement. Caleb and Aaron survived to tell a timeless American story, and we hear it this week on The Signal.
