They've *Already* Won in My Book
Dan, I'm a life-long O's fan, and I grew-up in the Baltimore area during the great days of Brooks Robinson and Jim Palmer. I was at the the Sept 12th game against Tampa Bay in which they won 3-2 in the 9th. As the winning run was scored, the O's came out on the field and acted like they had just won the World Series! It was great to see this spontaneous display. In my book, even if they don't make it all the way, they've shown themselves to be a great team with a lot of spirit reflecting the the great tradition handed-down from our legendary O's. They are deserving our loyalty. Just curious: Has anyone run a statistical analysis of the remaining games to see -- if based on recent performance -- we can actually clinch the ALE from the Yankees and not have to depend on this absurd Wild Card business. It's done as much to degrade the game as the the Designated Hitter. -- Ed Bunker (in Baltimore)
