No Charges for Police in Anthony Anderson “Homicide”: State’s Attorney Gregg Bernstein Explains

Last September, Anthony Anderson, Sr. was arrested by city police near Biddle and Montford Streets in East Baltimore. Detective Todd Strohman tackled Anderson, leaving him with eight broken ribs and a ruptured spleen. Anderson died in police custody that same evening. There were vehement protests in the community demanding justice.
Last week, state’s attorney Gregg Bernstein announced he’s not planning to press charges against any of the officers involved in the arrest. We ask him why. We also hear from Reverend C. D. Witherspoon, a member of the Baltimore People’s Assembly, who disagrees with the decision.
