Aerial artist Mara Neimanis, of In-Flight Theater, delves into themes of mother-daughter relationships once again with her new solo work "Naomi's Flight."
In-Flight Theater and Arachne Aerial Arts presented "For That Which Returns" in November 2012. That piece was centered on the myth of Demeter and Persephone-a mother and daughter with a very complex relationship.
In Neimanis' new solo work, she interprets the true story of her own mother's dementia and her efforts to help and understand their relationship. Shifting through characters and aerial movements, Neimanis tells of her mother Naomi's career, her joys, and her various health problems.
"Naomi's Flight" continues at the Theatre Project until March 3.
