Beasts of the Summer Wild

I was fortunate to see the film at a special showing at MICA when WYPR-FM Tom Hall interviewed the screen writer.

It was a tour deforce of storytelling, acting (the young actress is brilliant) her father, also an extraordinary performance, and we are told neither are professionals. But this film is on her shoulders and she carries it triumphantly. The film is a visceral experience. I have never seen a film like this or suspect I will again. It is in a class by itself. Bravo to all those who had a role in this film.

Addiction to Violence on Film

PLEASE address the content of our country's addiction to violent movies and television. This is a money driven, Hollywood greed issue isn't it? Do people truly have "choice" what to watch, or have we been slowly juiced to bigger, better, faster, sensationalism in the media. How many times has the average citizen witnessed a murder/killing on TV/movie/video games (for entertainment purposes)? This is a contributing factor, but haven't heard it addressed throughout this tragedy. Shooter did claim he was "the Joker" right?

Disappointed,

Dan Ashe
