In celebration of the Great Backyard Birdcount, an update on trends in local bird populations. Plus, tips on how amateur birders of all ages can help with conservation efforts and have fun at the same time. Our guests include David Curson, director of bird conservation for the Maryland-D.C. chapter of the National Audubon Society; Walter Ellison, editor of the recently published "2nd Atlas of Breeding Birds of Maryland and the District of Columbia;" Marty Brazeau, organizer of the Baltimore Bird Club Youth Program, and Mike Hudson, a 13-year-Baltimore birder.
