Gov. Martin O’Malley defends his plan to raise taxes on state residents who earn six figures or more, saying he considers it the “fairest way” to help close the state’s latest budget gap. O'Malley also proposed an increase on taxes on tobacco products and doubling fees on the state’s so-called “flush tax” on water and sewer bills. We'll speak with The Washington Post's Aaron Davis about O'Malley's unpopular proposals.

Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake booted Council President Bernard C. “Jack” Young from city’s box at last Sundays’ Ravens-Texans playoff game. Seems the mayor didn’t care much for Young's urging her in the pages of The Baltimore Sun to give up on finding a new operator for the troubled Baltimore Grand Prix. The Baltimore Sun’s City Hall reporter, Julie Scharper, gives us the down-low on this story from M&T Bank Stadium.

A conversation with J. Todd Moye, author of Freedom Flyers: The Tuskegee Airmen of World War II, and a consultant on the documentary “Double Victory”, produced by LucasFilm, that premiered on the History Channel last week. The Tuskegee Airmen fought in World War II on two fronts: against the Axis powers in the skies over Europe and against Jim Crow racism and segregation at home.
