The weekly Midday news review sticks to one big subject -- the financial crisis and its economic and political ramifications, in Maryland, across the country and abroad. We're joined again by Baltimore Sun business columnist and blogger Jay Hancock, and by Herb Smith, longtime political observer, professor of political science at McDaniel College and co-author of the forthcoming "Maryland Politics and Government: Democratic Dominance".

Special guest: Lawrence McDonald, former Lehman Brothers trader, and author of “A Colossal Failure of Common Sense - The Inside Story of the Collapse of Lehman Brothers.” He is president and founder of LGM Group, LLC, an asset management firm based in New York City and specializing in Washington policy research. Lawrence McDonald was part of a faction at Lehman that called the subprime crisis; he says he passionately tried in vain to stop the firm from heading down the road to destruction.

Also, Love, the Bus. Tyler Dunham, Seth Brown and Corey McLean, three friends from Maine have a bus and a cause. They've converted an old school bus to run on biodiesel ad have hit the road with a plan to hit all fifty states, raising money and awareness for charities throughout the country. They stop by Midday. Watch their progress and donate at http://lovethebus.tv/.
