Everyman Theatre Extends "August: Osage County" Run
February 11, 2013
Sold-out shows and packed houses have led Everyman Theatre's staff to add eight more performances to the month-long run of "August: Osage County."
Everyman's production of the Pulitzer-prize winning drama was slated to end on Feb. 17, but with the extension, its' run will end on Feb. 24.
All shows up until Feb. 17 are sold out.
Maryland Morning theater critic J. Wynn Rousuck reviewed "August: Osage County" in January. You can listen to the review here.
The production features a large cast, has a length of more than three hours, and the action takes place in and around a three-story house. Rousuck calls the production a "big, brawling, sprawling drama."
The play is centered around a dysfunctional family. After the patriarch disappears, the family reunites in their home state of Oklahama. Some family members have addictions, some have secrets, but they all have some sort of baggage to lie on the dinner table.
