Four years after a state commission recommended capital punishment's abolition in Maryland, Gov. Martin O’Malley has joined the NAACP in pushing for repeal of the death penalty; it’s the second time he’s introduced such legislation in the General Assembly. We hear arguments from both sides: Sen. James Brochin (D-Baltimore County); Gerald Stansbury, president of the Maryland state conference of the NAACP; Jane Henderson, executive director of Marylander Citizens Against State Executions (CASE); Baltimore County State's Attorney Scott Shellenberger; University of Baltimore law professor John Bessler, author of "Cruel and Unusual: The American Death Penalty and the Founders' Eight Amendment."
