Originally aired on April 10, 2012
100 years ago, The Titanic left on Southampton its maiden-and only- voyage across the Atlantic Ocean. The ship has some Baltimore connections -- Walter Lord, who wrote the well-known account of Titanic, A Night to Remember, was born in Baltimore. Meanwhile, the woman who was the basis for Rose, Kate Winslet's character in the film Titanic, was a wealthy woman who lived on St. Paul Street in Baltimore.
Tom Hall talks about both of these connections with Baltimore Sun journalist Fred Rasmussen.
