The Baltimore Sun has called WYPR's Gilbert Sandler “our great rememberer.”   He tells us a Baltimore Story every Friday here on WYPR, and now he’s got a new book.  It’s his fifth:  a collection of some of the columns he wrote in the Baltimore Jewish Times that chronicles Jewish history in Baltimore.  It’s called Glimpses of Jewish Baltimore.  From the Talmud Torah Softball League to the Jewish Drum and Bugle Corps, from Carlin’s Park to the great delis, from Mama Cass to influential rabbis and entrepreneurs, Gil Sandler paints vivid pictures of life in Baltimore from the time of the first immigrants to the late 20th century.
