Outgoing Walters Art Museum director Gary Vikan has a new book.  It’s called From the Holy Land to Graceland: Sacred People, Places, and Things in Our Lives.  An internationally acclaimed scholar of Byzantine and Medieval Art, Gary Vikan has also done a lot of thinking about Elvis Presley.  This book places the King of Rock and Roll well outside the confines of mere pop celebrity, and squarely in the company of revered religious figures.
