None of the people who worked with Charles O. Heller when he ran the Dingman Center on Entrepreneurship at the University of Maryland; or, when he taught aerospace engineering at the Naval Academy; or, when he started several software businesses; none of his neighbors around Annapolis, knew that as a 9-year-old boy in Czechoslovakia at the end of World War II that he picked up an abandoned gun and shot a Nazi in the chest.

For decades Heller didn’t tell anyone, until he prepared to write the memoir he published last year, Prague: My Long Journey Home. Sheilah spoke with Heller last May.
