Baltimore Sun reporter Scott Dance is in an Ocean City hotel, watching the surf push past the dunes. He tells Tom Hall the latest as Hurricane Sandy moves west toward shore.
Then -- big storms like Sandy can create lasting damage to the natural environment. In 1933, a hurricane created the Ocean City Inlet, cutting off Assateague from the mainland. Nathan Sterner checks in with University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science president Don Boesch to see how Sandy might affect the natural environment, including the Chesapeake Bay.
