SickWeather.com's flu map - Click to visit their siteEvery month, we bring you a wrap up of the latest in Baltimore tech news. This month, Nathan talks with Andrew Zaleski of the tech news site, Technically Baltimore.

We began our conversation looking back at a few tech stories from 2012. Baltimore's new Chief Information Officer, Chris Tonjes, has been working to revamp Open Baltimore, the city's open data portal. Also, the city has a $10,000 contest to see who can create an app to help city services run more smoothly. We also look at the growth of start-ups in Baltimore, helped along by Accelerate Baltimore, a local incubator that began in 2012.

Plus, can social media like Twitter and Facebook help us predict when the flu season will start? SickWeather.com thinks so. It's a Baltimore-based start-up that predicted the flu season six weeks before the Center for Disease Control.
