This segment originally aired on May 8, 2012.
For the past week, we’ve been re-visiting some of our favorite conversations of 2012. In May, Tom Hall spoke with NPR commentator Frank Deford his 18th book. It’s a memoir, called Over Time: My Life as a Sportswriter, in which he looks back on his career as a magazine writer, a screenwriter, a radio commentator, a TV personality, and even a pitchman for beer.
You can hear Deford's musings on the world of sports every Wednesday during Morning Edition on WYPR.
