Sparrows Point is synonymous with steel, but as steelmaking on the point comes to at least a temporary standstill, people are looking for ways to bring other jobs to the peninsula. Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz sees an opportunity in the Port of Baltimore, which is hoping to expand. To figure out possible uses, he’s formed the Sparrows Point Partnership, which meets for the first time tomorrow. Sheilah speaks with the County Executive about the partnership.
Purchasing suits and dress clothes can be a challenge. Sheilah talks about it with Zoey Washington. She’s CEO of the Baltimore-based company LITTLEbird, a fashion consulting company for the teen and tween demographic.
Last week, the United States Preventive Services Task Force issued draft recommendations stating that taking a vitamin D / calcium supplement does not necessarily prevent bone fractures in women. Tom talks with licensed nutritionist Monica Reinagel about what this recommendation means and what women can do instead.
