W.R. Grace to take $365M charge in fourth quarter
W.R. Grace & Co. said Thursday it will take a $365 million, non-cash charge to its fourth quarter earnings to reflect higher costs related to its asbestos liability.
Columbia-based Grace (NYSE: GRA) said it raised its asbestos-related liability estimate to $2.065 billion, up from $1.7 billion. The higher amount reflects the increased value of a warrant and deferred payments the chemical and building products company plans to give to an asbestos personal industry trust as part of its bankruptcy reorganization…
