Wisp ski resort sale approved by bankruptcy court judge

The sale of Wisp ski resort in Western Maryland to a unit of a Kansas City-based real estate investment trust for $23.5 million was approved this week by a bankruptcy court judge, the Associated Press reported.

The resort filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2011 after defaulting on nearly $30 million in loans to build a golf course community near the ski hill.
