Winter Weather, Elementary School Security, Foster Care, and Challenges To Speeding Tickets

You can expect a mix of wintry weather on Wednesday. The National Weather Service lists its most up-to-date forecasts and advisories here. State Highway Administration officials are urging motorists to slow down when they encounter the wintry mix.
On today's edition of Inside Maryland Politics, WYPR Senior News Analyst Fraser Smith talks with Andy Rosen of the Baltimore Sun about the political will for development in the counties.
Some Maryland lawmakers are looking into stepping up security at elementary schools following the shooting massacre in Connecticut earlier this month. Baltimore County Delegate John Cluster has proposed emergency legislation to place School Resource Officers in elementary schools across the state (via our wire service and WJZ).
The number of Maryland children in foster care is going down; officials say the number of children in foster homes has dropped from over ten-thousand in 2007 to around 67-hundred (via our wire service and the Baltimore Sun).
Some people who received and paid tickets issued by Baltimore city speed enforcement cameras are now looking to challenge the results. The move comes amid the revelation that some of the cameras issued more than five% of their tickets in error (via our wire service and the Baltimore Sun).
Same-sex marriage becomes legal in Maryland in less than a week, but there will be no ceremonies held on Discover Annapolis Tours trolleys.
