U.S. unemployment flat at 7.8%, 155,000 jobs added VIDEO

The nation’s unemployment rate was 7.8 percent in December, unchanged from the revised November rate, the U.S. Department of Labor reported Friday.

November’s jobless rate was initially reported as 7.7 percent but was adjusted based on new data. The economy added 155,000 non-farm payroll jobs last month, with 168,000 new private-sector positions offset by a small decline in government employment, the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics said.
