U.S. audit finds Baltimore mismanaged $9.5M grant to help homeless

A U.S. Housing and Urban Development Department audit found that Baltimore's Office of Human Services mismanaged a $9.5 million federal grant for helping the homeless, the Baltimore Sun reported.

The Baltimore office failed to oversee programs and awarded cash for services that may not have been eligible, the audit found. The Office of Human Services disputes the findings and says no waste, fraud or abuse occurred, the Sun reported.
