University of Maryland move to Big Ten approved by regents

The University of Maryland’s move to the Big Ten from the Atlantic Cost Conference was approved on Monday by the state’s Board of Regents.

The vote ends a weekend of speculation regarding Maryland’s possible move from the ACC, its home for the last 60 years. ESPN reports the University System of Maryland approved the move to the Big Ten, a conference made up of large public colleges predominantly in the midwest.
