Under Armour Baltimore Running Festival strides into 12th year

Organizers of the Under Armour Baltimore Running Festival touted the race’s economic impact and record number of participants in 2012 at a press conference Thursday to kick off the weekend event.

Lee Corrigan, president of Elkridge-based Corrigan Sports Enterprises, said the race had a $30.5 million economic impact on Baltimore in 2011, the event’s 11th year. With a record 27,000 runners this year — up 2,000 from last year — that impact is only expected to increase.
