Third inmate killed in Maryland state prison since September

Convicted rapist found dead in cell at North Branch Correctional Institution

A man serving life in prison without parole was killed Sunday in an apparent homicide, Maryland State Police said, the third such incident since September at the North Branch Correctional Institution in Allegany County.
