Super Bowl drives HDTV sales
Super Bowls prompt a lot of U.S. consumers to buy a new TV, according to the Consumer Electronics Association.
The Arlington-based trade group says 22 percent of high-definition television owners in the U.S. bought their television specifically for watching the Super Bowl. It says no other sporting event comes close to prompting that many HDTV sales.
