Southwest to start BWI-to-Puerto Rico flights in 2013

Southwest Airlines Co. will begin new year-round nonstop service between Baltimore and San Juan, Puerto Rico, starting June 2.

The carrier will offer two daily nonstop flights from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport to San Juan. The move is part of Southwest’s transition with AirTran Airways.

AirTran will continue to operate a seasonal flight from BWI to Bermuda. The flight will resume May 16 with four weekly flights. Daily service will begin in June.
