Serco Group warns it may cut hundreds of Maryland jobs
Serco Group Inc., a subsidiary of United Kingdom-based Serco Group plc, has warned Maryland's labor department that it may lay off nearly 480 people across the state.
The defense contractor told the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation that it is uncertain if the job cuts will be permanent. If the layoffs do occur, 308 people will be affected at an office at 6731 Columbia Gateway Drive in Columbia, a labor department notice said.
