Serco Group warns it may cut hundreds of Maryland jobs
Serco Group Inc. has warned the state’s labor department that it may lay off nearly 480 people across Maryland.
The defense contractor told the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation on Friday that it is uncertain if the job cuts will be permanent. If the layoffs do occur, 308 people will be impacted at an office at 6731 Columbia Gateway Drive in Columbia, a labor department notice said.
Another 27 workers would be affected at an Aberdeen Proving Ground office, the notice said.
