Sequester deadline looms: What's the latest? (Video)
The deadline for sequester — again — is less than 48 hours away.
If members of Congress and President Barack Obama can’t reach an agreement, major federal spending cuts — $85 billion worth — would kick in starting Friday.
In Maryland, a state heavily dependent on the U.S. government, some 46,000 civilian employees of the Department of Defense would be furloughed and $353.7 million in pay would be lost. That’s according to a report released Sunday evening by the White House.
