Senate panel considers Miller's gas tax proposal

Proposals to increase funding for transportation in Maryland, including a new 3 percent sales tax on gas at the wholesale level, put forward by Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr. were heard by a State Senate committee Wednesday, the Annapolis Capital reported.

Miller's proposals also would create a "lockbox" for the state's Transportation Trust Fund.
