Senate panel approves gun control measure

A committee of the Maryland State Senate approved a sweeping gun control measure Thursday, the Associated Press reported.

By a vote of 7-4, the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee approved the bill, which is a top priority of Gov. Martin O'Malley's legislative agenda.
