Senate confirms Towson resident Grimm for U.S. District Court
The U.S. Senate confirmed by a near-unanimous vote Chief Magistrate Judge Paul W. Grimm to a seat on the U.S. District Court in Baltimore, the Maryland Daily Record reported.
A Towson resident who has served as a magistrate judge for the District of Maryland since 1997, Grimm succeeds Judge Benson E. Legg, who took senior status in June. The vote was 92-1, with Republican Sen. Roy Blunt of Missouri opposing the nomination.
