SECU, Tower Federal crack SNL's top credit union list
Two credit unions based in the Baltimore area made the list of the largest 50 credit unions in the U.S.
Linthicum’s SECU credit union came in 47th in SNL Financial’s ranking, with $2.57 billion in assets. and Tower Federal Credit Union of Laurel ranked 48th with $2.52 billion in assets. SNL ranked credit unions by 2012 asset levels.
Both SECU and Tower grew in assets and deposits and added members from 2011 to 2012. SECU increased to 231,000 members in 2012, up from 221,000 in 2011. Tower expanded…
