Rockville company to use nanomedicine to treat cancer

Rockville-based CytImmune Sciences Inc. will study the feasibility of a new cancer medicine with the large pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, WJZ-TV Channel 13 reported.

The two companies will work together on an attempt to transmit cancer drugs directly to the scene of the disease via extremely small gold particles, a nanomedicine technique that has been used since the 1930s to treat patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
