By resigning, Leopold keeps $8K county pension
By resigning before the Anne Arundel County Council could vote to remove him from office, convicted County Executive John R. Leopold gets to keep his $8,000 annual county pension, the Baltimore Sun reported.
However his attorney, Bruce Marcus, says the pension was "not a factor" in Leopold's decision to step down. His decision to resign was "based on what he believed was in the best interests of the citizens of Anne Arundel County," Marcus said.
