Rawlings-Blake performs first same-sex marriage ceremony at City Hall

Minutes after midnight on the first day of the new year, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake performed the first-ever gay wedding ceremony in Baltimore City made legal in Maryland by referendum passed in November 2012, the Baltimore Brew reported Tuesday.

It was one of seven same-sex ceremonies that took place at City Hall in the wee hours of Jan. 1, in addition to numerous others throughout the state.
