Rawlings-Blake becomes DNC secretary, takes office Tuesday

Stephanie Rawlings-Blake takes office Tuesday as secretary of the Democratic National Committee, the Baltimore Sun reported.

The appointment, which will give the Baltimore mayor a prominent role in national politics, comes at a time when her political mentor, Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley, is widely considered to be jockeying for the party's 2016 nomination for president.
