Ravens and 49ers will both take loss on Super Bowl
The Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers will each spend more on Super Bowl week in New Orleans than they'll earn for playing the 47th annual NFL championship game, Bloomberg Businessweek reported Tuesday.
Neither team would discuss their costs, though past Super Bowl participants said it can be at least a few million dollars. The NFL gives the winning team $4.3 million and the loser $3.2 million, plus transportation expenses equal to 200 first-class airfares.
