Panel recommends campaign finance reform for Maryland

The Commission to Study Campaign Finance Law is urging Maryland lawmakers to adopt sweeping reforms to the state's campaign finance laws, the Associated Press reported.

The legislative panel says the state should close loopholes that have allowed donors to contribute large amounts of money to campaigns through multiple limited-liability corporations. The commission also recommended that the state raise limits on how much donors can contribute to keep pace with inflation.
