Orioles extend contracts of Showalter, Duquette through 2018 season

The Baltimore Orioles rewarded Manager Buck Showalter and Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations Dan Duquette for the Birds' miracle 2012 season by extending their contracts through 2018, Yahoo! Sports reported Wednesday.

Showalter's salary was nearly doubled to $3 million per season over the length of the deal, putting him in the top 25 percent of big-league managers.
