O'Malley touches on jobs, assault weapons in State of the State address

A ban on assault weapons, a repeal of the death penalty and a "jobs" budget that will support 43,000 jobs in Maryland are what Gov. Martin O'Malley wants to accomplish in this session of the General Assembly.

O’Malley spent much of his speech looking back on his administration’s accomplishments — the top-rated public school system in the nation, more women launching businesses than any other state and the state regaining the most jobs since the recession than any state in the region.
