O'Malley seeks $336M for Maryland school construction

Gov. Martin O’Malley wants to spend $336 million on public school construction and modernization projects that would create and support about 8,100 jobs.

O’Malley plans to include a request for the funding in his fiscal year 2014 budget proposal, O’Malley’s office announced Monday.

The bulk of the money — $325 million — would go to the Public School Construction Program. Of that amount, $25 million would be alloted for adding air conditioning to schools.
