Ocean City visitors decline, as shown by fewer flushing toilets

Ocean City's visitor total has declined for four consecutive years, according to statistics gleaned from the number of toilets flushed, the Associated Press reported Tuesday.

Colloquially termed "Demoflush," the resort town's week-by-week population estimates come from a decades-old formula that calculates how many toilets were flushed in a given time period. A decreasing number of toilets have been flushed in Ocean City in each of the last four years.
